Mesotherapy

Over time, the skin changes: it becomes damaged and ages. Despite the promises of cosmetic products and a healthy lifestyle, the deep layers of the epidermis deteriorate. They lose their hyaluronic acid, vitamins and collagen content. With the help of Mesotherapy, we can reverse the ageing process in a simple and fast way, boosting collagen, vitamins and minerals directly into your skin.

What is Traditional Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a medical technique first delivered in the 1950s by a Frenchman called Dr Michel Pistor.

Mesotherapy was initially used to treat such conditions as rheumatism, sports injuries, and for the improvement of blood circulation, but is now used successfully world-wide by medical practitioners for various cosmetic conditions, including skin rejuvenation, hair re-growth, localised fat reduction, and as a treatment for cellulite. Mesotherapy is a French rejuvenation technique that uses micro injections of vitamins, enzymes, antioxidants, and plant extracts to rejuvenate and tighten skin, improve hair quality, as well as remove excess fat and cellulite.

Mesotherapy is a non surgical procedure that uses micro injections of vitamins, hormones, enzymes, and plant extracts. Its goal is to rejuvenate and tighten the skin. It is also used to reduce cellulite, lighten pigmented skin, fade wrinkles and line, treat alopecia and encourage hair growth, recontour the body, as well as to remove fat in areas such as the thighs, stomach, buttocks, legs, hips, face, and arms.

Very fine needles are used to deliver a series of injections into the middle layer of the skin. These injections are believed to correct underlying issues, such as inflammation and poor circulation, which cause skin damage.

Before mesotherapy, you may have problems like stubborn fat in certain areas of the body, wrinkles and fine lines in the face, pigmented skin, etc.

After the procedure, your dull and tired-looking skin will be improved, superficial wrinkles will fade, and excess fat will be reduced. If you undergo the procedure to treat alopecia, you can also expect the procedure to promote hair growth.

FAQs

What does a Mesotherapy Procedure Involve?

While mesotherapy is nonsurgical and not painful, it can be slightly uncomfortable. Therefore, you may have anesthetic cream applied to your skin to numb the affected area.

Using a special short needle, you will get a series of injections. The injections can be carried out on the face, neck, scalp, chest, hands, and other areas of the body that may have problems you wish to address. There is not a standard formula for the substances injected. The practitioner may use a combination of different substances, including vitamins, minerals, enzymes and herbal extracts. The substances used depends on what you want to treat.

Each injection can be given at different depths into your skin, ranging between 1 and 4 millimeters, depending on the condition you want to treat. The practitioner may flick their wrist at a rapid pace while injecting, or use a device called “mesogun”.

What is the Recovery Time for Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy has minimal downtime. You may experience a little bruising and swelling after the procedure, but they will subside within the next couple of days.

Some people are able to return to work and normal activities on the same day, while others may need to take a day off due to pain and swelling.

What Aftercare is Required for Mesotherapy?

In order to avoid complications and to reduce swelling and bruising we recommend the following aftercare:
  • Do not use any blood thinning medicine like aspirin before and after the application.
  • Avoid tight clothes such as skinny jeans after the application as they can affect the blood circulation.
  • Do not make any significant physical efforts during the first 2 days after treatment.
  • Make-up should not be applied to the skin within the first 10 – 15 hours after the procedure.
  • Do not consume any alcohol, caffeine, high protein foods and do not smoke after treatment.
  • The area should not be touched as much as possible to prevent infection.
  • Cold application should be done on and around the area to prevent bruising, swelling and redness.
  • Washing and showering are not allowed for at least 8 hours after Mesotherapy. Do not take hot baths for 48 hours after treatment.
  • Avoid sun exposure after treatment and until bruising subsides.

What is the maintenance plan after Mesotherapy?

You can have maintenance treatments 1 – 2 times a year. To maintain the results, particularly if you have mesotherapy to reduce signs of aging and eliminate excess fat, make sure you exercise regularly, follow a well-balanced diet plan, and limit your alcohol intake.

All treatments are tailored to the individual and personal experiences and results may vary. We recommend a one to one consultation with our expert practitioners to discuss your treatment options.
